Course Description
Demonstrate the application of your skills in a counselling setting, in a work setting, or personal relationship
Advance your practical counselling skills through rigorous triad work, feedback, and classroom excercises
Expand and appreciate the different theoretical models and how they interact with your existing counselling skills for example: Integrative, CBT, TA & Psycho dynamic etc.
Continue documenting your personal development, build confidence, and strengthen your strengths and weaken your weaknesses
Further consolidate your ability to create rapport, utilise pacing & silence, challenging the client, advanced process models, open questions, and advanced empathy
Discuss the importance of supervision
NICE guidelines, evidence based practise, IAPT & trends
Requirements for entry
Level 1 & 2 certificates in Counselling Skills
You need to be 18 years of age or older
Assessment criteria
As this course requires demonstrations of interpersonal skills, you are expected to attend all sessions. I can provide flexibility for non-attendance by offering an alternative session to ‘keep up’ with the rest of the class to maintain your working knowledge in order to reach a successful outcome
You will be expected to keep a personal process journal of your learning throughout the course
Complete 3 written assignments from an approved list of topics. For example: essays and powerpoint presentations
Produce a portfolio of evidence that satisfies the necessary aims and objectives of the course
