Please note that due to the content of this course, remote learning is not an effective option.

Research has shown that counselling is a skill that greatly benefits from interaction in person. Therefore, we design our courses to be inspirational and interactive.

Course Description

  • Demonstrate the application of your skills in a counselling setting, in a work setting, or personal relationship

  • Advance your practical counselling skills through rigorous triad work, feedback, and classroom excercises

  • Expand and appreciate the different theoretical models and how they interact with your existing counselling skills for example: Integrative, CBT, TA & Psycho dynamic etc.

  • Continue documenting your personal development, build confidence, and strengthen your strengths and weaken your weaknesses

  • Further consolidate your ability to create rapport, utilise pacing & silence, challenging the client, advanced process models, open questions, and advanced empathy

  • Discuss the importance of supervision

  • NICE guidelines, evidence based practise, IAPT & trends

Requirements for entry

  • Level 1 & 2 certificates in Counselling Skills

  • You need to be 18 years of age or older

Assessment criteria

  • As this course requires demonstrations of interpersonal skills, you are expected to attend all sessions. I can provide flexibility for non-attendance by offering an alternative session to ‘keep up’ with the rest of the class to maintain your working knowledge in order to reach a successful outcome

  • You will be expected to keep a personal process journal of your learning throughout the course

  • Complete 3 written assignments from an approved list of topics. For example: essays and powerpoint presentations

  • Produce a portfolio of evidence that satisfies the necessary aims and objectives of the course

  • 35 weeks for 3 hours per week
